In October 2020, Schwalbe launched a new generation of bicycle inner tubes based on BASF thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastalan. This innovative product received high scores in weight, puncture resistance, handling, ease of assembly and package size. Aerothan bicycle inner tubes are the result of a unique development effort between European market leaders for bicycle tires and tubes and BASF high performance materials division.
